Patricia Evelyn sailed in on April 17, 2008 at 844pm She weighed 7lb 6oz and 19 3/4 in long. She was bright eyed and beautiful. She has the longest eyelashes and they just keep growing.
The morning started very early for me around midnight I started to have pretty consistant contractions around 7-9min apart. I'm laying there asking myself, do I wake up Aaron yet, do I call the doctor yet... knowing I needed to wait awhile. So, I slept a little moved from the bedroom to the LR trying to stay comfortable. Around 6 I woke up Aaron to let him know about the contractions, we decided to call the doctors. So we get out of the condo with Davi Jones around 7:30, drop off Davi at Mom and Dad's boat and head out for a 45min drive to the hospital.
Almost all the way to the hospital I'm still having contractions, and Aaron & I are saying I hope this is it (we had gone to the hospital the day before and was sent home). I'm trying to relax and when we pull into the hospital parking lot it seems I have relaxed away the contractions. We go ahead into the hospital, I tell the nurse how far we had to drive, she checks me out and there was change from the day before and she tells us to go on a walk for about an hour. So Aaron and I walk the halls of the maternity wing-the nurse checks me again there is more change - YEA I get admitted to have Patricia.
My room is a big, nice birthing suite. Aaron and I are on are phones letting family know, its really going to happen. Mom and Dad Brown arrive around lunch time (I think) and we are all just hanging around, watching tv, having painful contractions . But everything is progressing. Around 2pm I'm at about 5cm and I asked for the epideral. YEA
Mimi (my mom) flew in from Texas that afternoon, so she made it to the hospital. How she planned that I don't know. We take pics, hang out some more and around 7pm the nurse has me start pushing. Aaron is on my left (leg), Mimi on my right, and Mom has a leg (I think) everyone is helping. Then Crystal (Aaron's sister) shows up so she starts helping too. Aaron is still on my left, Mimi on my right, and now Mom and Crystal are behind me pushing me up. The nurse is saying there is change, but I don't believe her and I keep asking everyone is she telling the truth.
I kept asking becasuse the nurse that was with me all day said you will probably only push for about 20min Patricia is right there ready to come out. So I'm thinking Dr. Richmond is not here yet so why am I pushing already. But Dr Richmond arrived in flip-flops (very cool) around 8pm said she needed to turn Patricia's head a little and keep pushing.
So at 844pm Patricia finally came into are lives, the doctor plopped her right on my tummy I'm in shock, she is soo beautiful and Aaron and I are telling her how much we love her and kissing her. Everyone is so happy, joyful tears are rolling down all our faces. She is absolutely perfect, a perfect angel We feel truely blessed for our bright, blue-eyed baby girl, Patricia Evelyn
